Why do People Care so Much? | Trivial Worries

Everyone worries about trivial shit, and they always have problems.

Because as excessively self-aware creatures, we’re wired to overcomplicate things!

Plus, society today has such a broad political spectrum, unlimited access to both true, false and even unnecessary information, businesses that solve problems that people didn’t even know that they had, and we’ve got the drama of social media and everything that it brings to the table.

Most people literally do not have TIME to be genuinely hateful towards you, at least not for long.

If they SEEM like they don’t like you and they’re clearly putting energy into showing it, it’s probably because they’re trying to distract themselves from their problems.

That’s pretty much the only reason.

So it won’t last, especially if you understand everything that I’m talking about here, and if you refuse pay those people any attention.

Or, you address them and their bullshit projections directly.

Because with at least one of those options, they’ll need to go find someone else to project all their petty worries onto.

Why’s the World so Crazy? | Media and News

Another thing, is that there’s so much hectic news and crazy stuff being constantly purported out into the world by television and media, to keep people distracted from working on themselves.

And we stress over all of it, even when it either doesn’t directly affect us, has no real significance, or when we can’t actually control it or do anything about it.

As for social media channels, people bully others online.

We cancel regular people who begin to grow successful, or we post opinions that don’t help anybody.

Our world can be kind of ridiculous.

Now on top of that, NOBODY on this planet is really that much better than anyone else, to an extent.

You’ll hear people judge others for their “immoral” or “bad” choices.

They tell YOU who you should and shouldn’t be, when they don’t even know who THEY are.

Plus, they’re gonna change their mindset, their values, their lifestyle, or their personality by the time the next year comes around anyways.

Yet you continue to take the negative things that people say, personally.

The world’s a mess, everyone’s clueless… and what’s right and wrong, moral and immoral, is COMPLETELY subjective.

You’re the kind of person who’s disciplined, grows wiser with each interaction, and who pushes themselves regardless of what’s going on in the world or what people say.

So, How do I Worry Less About What Others Think of Me? | 3 Tips

Let’s run through 3 situations where you might well-and-truly care (or obsess over) what others think, and I’ll tell you why those concerns are odd (but understandable), and how I personally look at them.

1) You want to chase a career/life dream, but you don’t know if people will approve of it:

A startling number of people drop out of their degrees or change into completely different fields of study, because they have NO idea why they were even doing them to begin with.

By wanting to embark on a dream journey, you’re literally stating that you’re more CERTAIN of yourself and confident in who you are, than many other people.

In this way, plenty of people don’t even approve of their own dreams, either because they don’t pursue them at ALL, or because they don’t have any to begin with.

Your concerns are like listening to someone stuck waist-deep in a pit of mud, when they tell you, “don’t run over to that beautiful grassy meadow, there might be mud over there”.

And you’ll be like, “have you been there and seen the mud puddles?”

And they’re like, “no? I like to be realistic and careful not to get stuck in any mud”…

On top of this, imagine a small-framed weak boy telling a strongman that a big log couldn’t be lifted, because he’d personally tried.

What a ridiculous argument that’d be…

Just do it.

2) You want to be yourself, instead of the person that your parents and your friends want you to be, but you don’t have the confidence:

Well here, you intrinsically are BEING unconfident by thinking that you need to be like other people in order to get accepted.

If you just acted like who you really are, doing and saying what comes naturally to you, you’d PROJECT CONFIDENCE.

3) You’re scared and concerned that you don’t have what it takes to determine your own future. So you refuse to push or challenge yourself, in case you fail:

You’re literally DOOMED to fail now that you’re too scared to push yourself.

This IS determining your future, just in the wrong way.

But the truth remains, you’ve immediately PROVEN that you can determine your future.

And you prove this every time that you go out drinking another night, watch pornography again, get takeout again when you go out, sit scrolling on your phone, etc.

All because it was “too risky” not to conquer the fucking world and become the person that you truly could become.

As you can see, there are plenty of stupid dichotomies that we’re subject to, when obsessing over both what others think of us, and of the negative thoughts that our own brain feeds us.

That’s it!

Here’s a summary:

1) Everybody freaks out about literally anything and don’t have the energy to worry about you.

2) Because they freak out about everything happening in the media, and all of the trivial stressors that they face, it means that they’re distracted and not focusing on themselves, which literally makes it stupid to think that they can genuinely judge you for who you are or what you’re doing.

3) Nobody knows what the best way to do things is, what the right direction is, what’s right or wrong, and they CERTAINLY don’t know who you should be. Because, they probably don’t even know who they are…

4) Your worries are usually ironic. Just push yourself in some way and life will turn out more than fine for you.
