Hello, World!

Good morning!

How to Control Your Environment; which includes Designated Spaces like in Atomic Habits, but should be larger-reaching. Also like-minded people, social contracts and accountability partners to grow together | Join the Peaky Pines Email Community.

Hello, World!

Associate less with those who drag you down.

Drop friends who drag you down or have no desire to grow to be productive in life and isn’t someone who wants to learn and gain new experiences.

Even if they’re your friends, associate less with them.

Hello, World!

Unfollow irrelevance.

Unfollow everything online that isn’t related to what you’re tryna do.

All social media is either deleted or your feeds on Insta or YouTube should just be related to your stuff.

Hello, World!

Absorb what you’re learning or doing.

Absorb yourself in the world that’s moving in the direction that YOU wanna move in.

If it’s violin-playing, then absorb yourself in violin.

Hello, World!

Build systems.

Look at what kind of action you wanna take and make Associative Habits for all of it.

Use designated spaces too, so sleep only in your bed, work only at your desk, and watch entertainment or YouTube or listen to music only in the living room or another space.

P.S. Don’t listen to music when you’re fucken studying, unless it’s non-vocal study music or non-vocal sounds.

Any normal music will ONLY distract your mind.

It’s biological and you’re (usually) not special.

Hello, World!

Be accountable.

Be accountable for your life-results, by taking advantage of your environment, positive or negative.

Things can happen to you and disrupt your external environment, but whether they build up or weaken your identity is completely up to you.

If it can benefit your identity, than it can benefit your life. If you’re unaccountable, you won’t grow.

Hello, World!

Make a social contract.

Make a social contract with family or friends.

For example, writing up a Google Doc that includes the goal that you’re going after/habit you’re tryna implement, what you’re gonna do to get there, rewards for performing the habits successfully, punishment for failing, and other nuances.

Your people should help you write this and they should be held witness.

Print the sheet out so that there’s a copy for each of you.

You should include punishment for lying or trying to avoid having the other people know whether you’re performing the habits successfully or not.

Hello, World!

Find people with similar goals.

Build up a vast network of people with similar goals to you.

Doesn’t need to be the same, perhaps just equally ambitious people.

Join the Peaky Pines Email Community, and I’ll do the expansion of that network for you.

You can try to personally recondition yourself all that you want, but if your environment sucks, it’ll be hard to change.
